Moon Stories
Dear Moon, Dear Chand, Dear Chanda, Dear Nila,...
You have been a character in fairy-tales I heard when I was growing up - a recurring element in all the romantic Bollywood films I watched. You are a familiar face - a comforting face, that makes me think of Constance and love. You have become a symbol now - a personification of magic and stories. We share this relationship with you - and have, from time immemorial, since the first child looked up at the first moon, and traced a creature of their fantasy on your familiar craters.
And then we reached you. And now there are two moons. One a world of magic, stories and fantasy and love. And the other, territory to be marked and claimed and, perhaps, mined for its wealth. This is a letter from us to you. Maybe it is time to remember that both these moons are one and the same. Maybe it never will be.
